Overview
Overview

The PULSAtron L380DT03-PVD is a Five Function Valve designed for compatible PULSAtron and Chem-Tech chemical metering pumps. It combines several discharge-side control and service functions into one compact valve assembly.

The valve features a PVDF body, PTFE/Teflon sealing components, a 100 PSI maximum pressure rating and a 1/2-inch OD tubing connection. Its multi-function design helps improve pump operation, system safety, priming and routine maintenance.

L380DT03-PVD Product Configuration

  • Part Number: L380DT03-PVD
  • Product Type: Five Function Valve
  • Product Family: PULSAtron
  • Valve Body: PVDF
  • O-Ring / Sealing Material: PTFE / Teflon
  • Maximum Pressure: 100 PSI
  • Tubing Connection: 1/2-Inch OD

Five Functions in One Valve

The L380DT03-PVD combines five useful functions that support the operation and servicing of a chemical metering pump discharge system.

1. Pressure Relief

The valve provides pressure-relief functionality to help protect the pump discharge system from excessive pressure. This can help protect tubing and connections when abnormal discharge pressure develops.

2. Back Pressure

Back-pressure functionality helps provide more stable operating conditions for the metering pump and supports reproducible chemical output, including applications where the pump discharges into low-pressure or atmospheric conditions.

3. Anti-Siphon Protection

The anti-siphon function helps prevent uncontrolled chemical flow through the pump when system conditions could otherwise create siphoning. This is particularly useful when the injection point is positioned below the pump or when differential pressure conditions can encourage unwanted flow.

4. Air Bleed

During pump priming, the air-bleed function provides a controlled way to remove trapped air from the pump head and discharge side. Removing air helps the metering pump establish a reliable liquid path and begin chemical delivery.

5. Discharge Drain

The discharge-drain function allows pressure in the pump discharge line to be relieved without requiring the operator to loosen chemical tubing or fittings. This can make servicing the chemical feed system safer and more convenient.

PVDF & PTFE Construction

The L380DT03-PVD uses a PVDF valve body with PTFE/Teflon sealing components. The valve diaphragm is documented as a Teflon-faced CSPE diaphragm.

These materials are used for chemical metering applications, but compatibility should always be confirmed for the specific chemical, concentration, temperature and operating conditions.

Connection Details

This version of the Five Function Valve is configured for 1/2-inch OD tubing. The connection size is an important distinction because other PULSAtron Five Function Valve configurations are available for different tubing sizes.

Metering Pump Applications

The PULSAtron Five Function Valve family is designed for use with compatible chemical metering pumps. Current product documentation identifies these valves for PULSAtron pumps up to 240 GPD and compatible Chem-Tech Series 100 and Series 200 pumps.

Why Use a Five Function Valve?

  • Combines five pump-system functions into one valve
  • Provides discharge pressure relief
  • Provides back-pressure control
  • Helps prevent siphoning
  • Provides manual air bleeding during priming
  • Allows controlled discharge-line draining
  • PVDF body for compatible chemical applications
  • PTFE/Teflon sealing components
  • 1/2-inch OD tubing connection
  • 100 PSI maximum pressure rating

Installation & Selection

The Five Function Valve installs on the discharge side of a compatible metering pump. Before installation, verify the pump model, discharge connection, operating pressure and chemical compatibility.

For this specific configuration, confirm that the system requires the L380DT03-PVD version with PVDF construction, PTFE/Teflon sealing and 1/2-inch OD tubing.
