WHERE TO BUY?
Overview
Overview

The PULSAtron K8PTCB is a KOPkit pump head repair and liquid-end maintenance kit designed specifically for PULSAtron size 8 chemical metering pumps equipped with the PTCB wet-end configuration.

The K8PTCB combines the major components required to service the pump liquid end, including the pump head, diaphragm, suction valve, discharge valve and associated hardware. Its documented configuration uses GFPPL/FPP construction, TFE/PTFE sealing components, ceramic valve balls and a 3/4-inch OD tubing connection.

K8PTCB Product Configuration

  • Part Number: K8PTCB
  • Product Type: KOPkit / Pump Head Repair Kit

Made for Size 8 PTCB Wet Ends

The K8PTCB is matched specifically to size 8 PULSAtron pumps carrying the PTCB liquid-end code. Pulsafeeder parts documentation uses the pump model LPH8SA-PTCB-XXX as an example and identifies K8PTCB as its corresponding KOPkit.

Matching the complete wet-end code is important because other size 8 PULSAtron pumps may use different valve-ball materials, connection types or liquid-end materials.

GFPPL & PTFE Liquid-End Construction

The PTCB configuration uses a GFPPL/FPP pump head and fittings together with TFE/PTFE valve seats and sealing components.

This material combination is designed for compatible chemical metering applications. Chemical compatibility should still be verified for the specific fluid, concentration, temperature and operating conditions.

Ceramic Valve Balls

The K8PTCB configuration uses ceramic valve balls in the suction and discharge check-valve system. These balls move against the valve seats as pressure changes during the pumping cycle.

Proper seating of the check balls helps maintain one-direction chemical flow and supports consistent metering performance.

PTFE-Faced Diaphragm

The kit includes the diaphragm used to create the pumping action within the liquid end. Current K8PTCB replacement-kit documentation identifies a PTFE-faced CSPE-backed diaphragm.

The diaphragm flexes continuously during pump operation and is therefore one of the important components to inspect and replace during preventive maintenance.

Major KOPkit Components

Pulsafeeder documentation indicates that the KOPkit contains the major wear components required to rebuild the liquid end. The K8PTCB service package includes components such as:

  • Pump head
  • Diaphragm
  • Suction valve assembly
  • Discharge valve assembly
  • Pump head screws
  • Washers and associated hardware
  • Shims where required
  • Associated sealing components

3/4-Inch OD Tubing Connection

The K8PTCB uses a 3/4-inch OD tubing connection. Pump-model documentation describes the corresponding tubing arrangement as approximately 0.50-inch ID x 0.75-inch OD.

This larger connection distinguishes the PTCB configuration from some other size 8 PULSAtron wet ends that use different connection sizes or connection types.

Documented Compatible Pump Models

Current replacement-parts documentation identifies K8PTCB for the following PULSAtron configurations:

  • LPH8SA-PTCB-XXX
  • LPH8MA-PTCB-XXX

The LPH8SA-PTCB configuration is documented with a GFPPL head, PTFE seats and O-rings, ceramic balls and a 0.50-inch ID x 0.75-inch OD connection.

Preventive Pump Maintenance

The liquid-end components of a diaphragm metering pump are exposed to continuous mechanical movement and process chemicals. Over time, the diaphragm, valve seats, check balls and sealing components may become worn or contaminated.

Installing the correct KOPkit during scheduled maintenance can help restore proper valve operation, reliable priming and consistent chemical delivery.

When to Service the Liquid End

  • Pump output becomes inconsistent
  • Pump has difficulty maintaining prime
  • Check valves no longer seat properly
  • Diaphragm shows signs of wear
  • Valve components contain chemical deposits
  • Preventive maintenance interval has been reached

Selection Note

Confirm that the pump uses a size 8 PTCB wet end before ordering K8PTCB. Similar PULSAtron size 8 KOPkits such as K8PTCC, K8PTSB and K8PTTB use different component or connection configurations and should not be substituted without verifying the complete pump model.
