WHERE TO BUY?
Overview
Overview

The PULSAtron J61021 is an injection check valve assembly designed for compatible PULSAtron chemical metering pumps. Installed at the chemical injection point, it connects the pump discharge tubing to the process line while providing check-valve action to help prevent process fluid from flowing backward toward the metering pump.

The J61021 combines a PVDF housing, PTFE valve seat and ceramic check ball. Its connection arrangement consists of a 1/2-inch OD tubing connection on the chemical-feed side and a 1/2-inch male NPT connection at the injection point.

J61021 Product Configuration

  • Part Number: J61021
  • Product Type: Injection Check Valve Assembly
  • Product Family: PULSAtron
  • Housing Material: PVDF
  • Valve Seat: PTFE
  • Check Ball: Ceramic
  • Pump-Side Connection: 1/2-Inch OD Tubing
  • Process Connection: 1/2-Inch Male NPT
  • Documented Wet Ends: KTC3 / KTCA

Designed for the Chemical Injection Point

The J61021 is installed where chemical from the metering pump enters the process system. The 1/2-inch OD discharge tubing from the pump connects to the valve, while the 1/2-inch male NPT connection threads into the appropriate process connection.

This makes the injection valve an important interface between the chemical feed system and the process line.

Injection Check Valve Function

The internal ceramic ball and PTFE seat create a check-valve arrangement. When the metering pump produces sufficient discharge pressure, chemical can move through the valve toward the process line.

When flow attempts to reverse, the ceramic ball returns toward the PTFE seat, helping restrict process fluid from traveling backward through the chemical-feed tubing.

PVDF Housing

The J61021 uses a PVDF housing. PVDF is widely used for chemical-handling components because of its resistance to many corrosive chemicals.

Actual chemical compatibility should still be confirmed against the process chemical, concentration, temperature and operating conditions before installation.

PTFE Seat & Ceramic Ball

The valve incorporates a PTFE seat and ceramic check ball. The ceramic ball repeatedly moves against the PTFE seating surface as the metering pump cycles.

Clean, undamaged seating surfaces are important for reliable check-valve operation. Chemical deposits or wear can prevent the ball from seating properly.

Connection Details

The chemical-feed side of the J61021 accepts 1/2-inch OD tubing and uses a coupling-nut style connection. The opposite end provides a 1/2-inch male NPT process connection.

  • Chemical Feed: 1/2-Inch OD Tubing
  • Injection Point: 1/2-Inch Male NPT

KTC3 & KTCA Wet-End Applications

Replacement-parts documentation identifies J61021 for compatible PULSAtron pumps equipped with KTC3 and KTCA wet-end configurations.

Documented pump examples include:

  • LPG5SA-KTC3-G19
  • LPH6SA-KTC3-G19
  • LPH7SA-KTC3-G19

Other compatible PULSAtron configurations may also use J61021. The complete pump model and wet-end code should be verified before replacement.

Role in a PULSAtron Chemical Feed System

The injection valve works together with the pump liquid end, discharge tubing and suction-side components to create a controlled chemical-feed system. While the pump generates the metered chemical flow, the J61021 provides the final check-valve interface before the chemical enters the process line.

When to Inspect the Injection Valve

  • Chemical feed becomes inconsistent
  • Process fluid appears to move backward into the discharge tubing
  • Valve does not seat properly
  • Chemical deposits are visible around the check ball or seat
  • PVDF housing or connection surfaces show damage
  • PTFE seat shows signs of wear

Maintenance Considerations

During maintenance, inspect the ceramic ball, PTFE seat, PVDF housing and tubing connection. Deposits should be removed using procedures appropriate for the chemical being handled.

A damaged seat or check ball can interfere with proper sealing even when the rest of the valve assembly remains intact.

Selection Note

J61021 is an injection check valve assembly. It should not be confused with the pump suction valve, discharge valve or foot valve/strainer.

Before installation, verify that the application requires the PVDF/PTFE/ceramic configuration, 1/2-inch OD tubing and 1/2-inch male NPT process connection.
