Pulsafeeder J37440 CSPE/Hypalon Valve Seat
Pulsafeeder J37440 CSPE/Hypalon replacement valve seat for compatible CHEM-TECH metering pump check valve assemblies, including Series 100/150 applications.
The Pulsafeeder J37440 is a replacement CSPE/Hypalon valve seat used within compatible Pulsafeeder chemical metering pump check-valve assemblies. It provides the sealing surface against which the check ball seats during operation.
Pulsafeeder documentation identifies J37440 as the Hypalon valve seat used in CHEM-TECH Series 100 and 150 valve assemblies. Current replacement-parts listings commonly identify Hypalon by its material designation, CSPE.

CSPE / Hypalon Valve Seat
The J37440 is manufactured from CSPE, historically marketed as Hypalon. It functions as the resilient sealing surface inside compatible metering pump check-valve arrangements.
The valve seat works together with a check ball to control the direction of chemical flow through the pump liquid end.
Role in the Check Valve
During pump operation, the check ball repeatedly moves away from and returns to the valve seat as pressure changes during the suction and discharge strokes.
When the ball contacts the J37440 seat, the interface helps restrict reverse chemical flow. When pressure moves the ball away from the seat, chemical can pass through the valve in the intended direction.
Associated J20560 Ceramic Check Ball
Pulsafeeder documentation shows the J37440 valve seat used alongside the J20560 ceramic check ball in compatible valve assemblies.
The J20560 provides the moving ceramic ball while J37440 provides the CSPE/Hypalon seating surface. Both components should be inspected when servicing the check-valve system.
CHEM-TECH Series 100 & 150 Applications
The official Pulsafeeder CHEM-TECH Series 100/150 parts documentation lists J37440 as Item 45, SEAT(HYP), VALVE. Two J37440 seats are documented within the illustrated pump valve arrangement.
Current replacement-parts suppliers also identify J37440 for compatible 100D and 150D Series mechanical diaphragm metering pumps.
Additional Series 200 Application
Pulsafeeder replacement-parts catalogs also identify J37440 for compatible Series 200 mechanical diaphragm pump valve arrangements. Always verify the complete pump model and existing valve material before selecting the replacement seat.
Why Valve Seat Condition Matters
The check ball must make proper contact with the valve seat for reliable check-valve operation. Chemical deposits, deformation, wear or deterioration of the seat can prevent proper sealing.
A worn or contaminated valve seat may contribute to:
- Difficulty priming the metering pump
- Loss of prime after shutdown
- Inconsistent chemical output
- Reverse flow through the liquid end
- Reduced check-valve sealing performance
Inspection During Pump Maintenance
When servicing the valve assembly, inspect the J37440 seat together with the check ball, valve body, gasket and other mating components. Replacing only the seat may not correct a sealing problem if the check ball or another valve component is damaged.
Replacement Kits
Pulsafeeder documentation also identifies J61512 as a valve-seat service kit containing multiple J37440 CSPE valve seats. This provides another manufacturer-documented confirmation of J37440 as the individual CSPE/Hypalon valve-seat component.
Selection Note
J37440 is an individual CSPE/Hypalon valve seat. It is not a complete suction valve, discharge valve, foot valve or injection valve assembly.
Verify the existing pump valve-seat material before replacement because Pulsafeeder also offers alternative valve-seat materials for certain pump configurations.
